Mrs. Neal Cartin
I would like to take a few moments to introduce myself to you. My name is Debbie Cartin. I was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the second daughter of eight children (an amusing tidbit for you: the first four were all girls, the last four were all boys). I graduated from North Middlesex High School in Townsend, Massachusetts. in 1979. I then married 1980 and had two children, my daughter Melissa who is married and has two beautiful girls 3 and 10 years old and they live in Burke NY, and my son Benjamin who is dating a very nice young woman and they live in Plattsburgh. In 1991 my family decided to move to Chateaugay, New York to enjoy the country life. We raised goats, chickens and ducks as well as rabbits which my children all showed at fairs and breed related shows in New York. My children were highly involved in 4-H.
I spent many of the years between then and when my children graduated from high school as a stay at home mom. Over the years, I have held odd jobs (both when my children were little and after graduating from college) that ranged from working at a family owned donut shop, a home based sewing company making carpet and duffle bags to working at the local school as a aid and a bus monitor, at a fair office as an office assistant, lawyers office and for a web design company.
I decided later in life to go to college and earn a degree. I completed a degree in Office Technology in 2007 from North Country Community College in Malone NY. Unfortunately shortly after this, my marriage of 32 years began to crumble, and a divorce was finalized in 2012.
Through this season in my life, I struggled to find employment and battled with depression. I found a position with the local Citizen's Advocate agency working with families as a Family Peer Advocate.
I met the Reverend Neal Cartin early in 2015 and realized that I found the one that I was searching for. I was born again into Christianity in May of 2015. Neal and I were married in a small family ceremony on July 18, 2015.
I am also currently office manager for Blue Skies Ministries and web designer.
I currently have two beautiful granddaughters that are the love of my life and enjoy spending time with them. I like to spend my free time spending time with family and working on my crafting hobbies, which are crocheting and quilting I also love to read Amish stories in my free time. I have done some crafts shows and am looking forwarded to doing them again in the near future, as well as possibility opening a quilt related business with teaching others to sew and quilt.
Neal and I are hoping to use my hobby in some way to give back to the community in the future.
